En pleno centro de Lisboa, se plantea la renovación interior de uno de los edificios más emblemáticos de la ciudad, verdadero testimonio del legado arquitectónico lisboeta.
Moldeado por múltiples intervenciones a lo largo del tiempo —incluida una reforma de referencia en 1905 a cargo del arquitecto Ventura Terra— el edificio refleja un diálogo singular entre pasado y presente, entre lo clásico y lo contemporáneo.
El objetivo del proyecto fue revitalizar los espacios interiores con una sensibilidad profunda, preservando la esencia de las preexistencias arquitectónicas y respetando cada capa histórica.
Lejos de reescribir, la intervención buscó revelar, aportando una nueva vida sutil al interior sin comprometer la identidad del edificio, asegurando su continuidad como pieza activa de la ciudad y su memoria urbana.
El diseño se concibió desde una mirada al futuro, basada en una comprensión sólida del pasado.
In the heart of Lisbon, the interior refurbishment of one of the city's most emblematic buildings was carried out — a true testament to Lisbon's architectural legacy.
Shaped by multiple interventions over time, including a landmark renovation in 1905 by architect Ventura Terra, the building embodies a unique dialogue between past and present, between the classical and the contemporary.
The project aimed to revitalise the interior spaces with a refined sensibility, preserving the architectural essence of the pre-existing elements and respecting each historical layer.
Rather than rewriting, the intervention sought to reveal — bringing new, subtle life to the interiors without compromising the building’s identity, ensuring its continued relevance in the urban memory of the city.
The design was conceived with a future-oriented vision, grounded in a deep understanding of the past.
